Nicknamed as “Silent Posh Hub”, Shalimar Bagh is an upstate residential colony in the North West region of Delhi. There are several community pockets clubbed into blocks A, B, C and D that come together to form Shalimar Bagh. The richness of this place is not only iterated by beautiful bungalows and flats, but also by banquets with names like “Richie Rich” and “All Heavens”!
From the Urban Degchi Kitchen to Chawla’s Chic Inn, from Dada ji di Punjabi Rasoi to Linx in the Premier Inn, you have a lot of variety here! There are the usual Dominos, McDonalds and Café Coffee Day outlets as well. The Haldiram’s outlet in the DLF City Centre Mall in Shalimar Bagh is pretty great too.
Lived here for the past 10 years Currently working with the Times of India.
Mostly an upper-middle family residential place.
Lot of activity during the day. There's a monday market that is set up every monday. Safety and security are a strong point here. People are generally helpful and you'll find most of the basic facities - schools, hospitals, markets, parks (and even a swimming pool complex) in sufficient numbers.
Roads tend to be crowded mostly (Courtesy some very smart people with excellent driving skills and parking sense). Apart from these there are three malls, and 3 metro stations situated very closeby. You'll find big foodchain brands (KFCs, McD,PHD,Bikanerwala, etc) and other spots to hang around. and yes, the famous DT Shalimar Bagh as well.
Cycle Rickshaws are present almost everywhere. Besides these, you'll also find autos ,buses and metro-feeder buses with ease. On the flip side, all of these commuting vehicles along with the vehicles owned by the local residents make long traffic jams.
